Dunkin Donuts Chocolate Strawberry Review.

Dunkin Donuts Chocolate Strawberry Review.

An Exquisite Berry Delight!

Seasonal brews and limited time offers are nothing new to me, but when I recently discovered some new flavors from Dunkin I was baffled.

Not because of the flavors themselves, but because I am a very regular Dunkin customer both in store and on the retail shelf and I have never before seen the new flavors I've found, even though they have apparently been on the market for years!

Where have I been!

Even more surprising for myself, both of these flavors stay on the market from January until June, I simply don't know how I haven't discovered them until now.

First I'll be talking about and offering my coffee expert opinion on Dunkins Chocolate Strawberry, and in another article I'll go over the other newly discovered flavor that excites me much more and has even taken the crown from my favorite Dunkins Turtle Love as my favorite branded ground coffee of all time. Not an easy task to accomplish!

A Love Note of Flavor.

It's no surprise that I discovered this flavor right around Valentines day when I was of course looking for a few little additions for my wife for a romantic occasion for the holiday.

I assumed when I saw Dunkins Chocolate Strawberry that it was simply here for the Valentines holiday season. Upon further research and from Dunkin's own website it apparently comes out each year from January to June.

What!

Well enough of my mind blown and somewhat ignorant surprise.

Let's talk about the coffee flavor itself and the wonders and pairings that I found to be quite delightful.... and those I didn't find so appealing.

As you might imagine, anything else chocolate (just about) will go well with this flavor, but I will admit that at first I didn't like it very much.

Any of you who have found yourself to be regular readers of my articles know that every time I try a brand new flavor I see it as only just and right to drink that coffee black.

Well I will be the first to say I DID NOT like this coffee black at all! I found it to be rather harsh in its flavors and the acidity and bitterness were much stronger than I found pleasant.

But like with all things coffee it's always about finding the right balance with the right flavors for your palate.

Once I introduced a small amount of French vanilla creamer it brought all the negativity to a low and amplified the pleasant strawberry and dark chocolate flavors within.

Pairing these two together also made an excellent combination with a regular glazed donut and a few bits of dark chocolate to snack on as well.

Once these flavor friends all met together the Dunkins Chocolate Strawberry emerged into it's true self and I found it to be a great flavor to add to my collection of Dunkin stars.

Speaking of stars, I have decided to start giving my coffee flavor reviews a star number for mine and your reference, so without further delay I have decided to give the Dunkins Chocolate Strawberry a 7/10.

A great coffee to try and go to seasonally but not something I want on my shelf every single day, even though it rates pretty high overall when paired correctly.

If it could stand on its own as black coffee that I found irresistible I'd give it 9 or 10, but seeing as I simply found it so unappealing without pairings I can't justifiably score it that high.

Happy sipping my fellow coffee lovers!
