This day in age is the first time people are getting to take electrically powered coffee mugs on the go with them.
Never before has the existence of this type of device been available on the market widely, and they can and have changed the ways we can enjoy our coffee considerably.
In this post I'm going to highlight the benefits of having a powered coffee mug and the differences you might expect to find between powered coffee mugs and powered travel mugs.
As you might expect these beauties need to be charged, and they come with an awesome wireless charging pad (The mug is wireless the pad uses a wire.) to be charged on.
You can them pick them up as easily and as seamlessly as you set them down.
Now let's look at why we'd drop the money for something like this.
Only The Best Reasons. (In my opinion.)
The first and probably most obvious reason to any and all of us is top keep our coffee hot.
The drawback here is that we can typically keep our coffee hot in a travel thermos or something similar designed specifically for that.
When you compare costs between a powered mug and a thermos it can be staggering, as most 12 oz insulated and sealable cups are pretty inexpensive.
But for me, the appeal of the powered coffee mug comes from the desire for luxury in my coffee drinking, let me explain why.
I always, and I do mean always, prefer to drink my coffee out of a mug over an insulated cup or thermos.
That means I love to sit my coffee mug on my desk, and enjoy it, often times slowly.
I am by no means in any way whatsoever a coffee chugger, and as an avid coffee lover I like to sip (Through a straw or otherwise.) my coffee at pace and enjoy it.
Because of this my coffee often loses its hot temperature before it's done, and I cant STAND to drink room temp coffee.
That is why my NUMBER ONE reason for having a powered smart coffee mug is to have my little wireless charging stand on my desk and set it right back on there so it stays charged and in turn my coffee stays hot.
But to list some other reasons it's also a very stylish mug, and does have a few smart features such as mug naming and temperature settings controlled via an app in your phone.
I also appreciate the wireless charging feature and I can still easily pack it up and take it to my office desk as well to enjoy the same hot coffee experience.
Finally because it's a mug it's designed to be sipped from and won't burn your mouth because of hot metal.
Overall I'm very satisfied with my smart powered coffee mug (I use an Ember.) and I really enjoy it.
The price point is a little high for something that's overall just a seriously glorified coffee mug but I'm still happy with it and don't feel like I've been ripped off, because having my coffee STAY hot at my desk while I take my time enjoying it is COMPLETELY worth the money to me.
