Novelty Explained.
Before we begin this next discussion in the Look at Your Mug series we first need to understand the definition of novelty.
Novelty in the case of a coffee mug defined as "The quality of being new, original, or unusual." With the emphasis on unusual.
Most coffee mugs come in a cylinder shaped cup, but when you're looking for a novelty cup you might expect to find more unique and distinct shapes. We'll talk about some examples below.
Novelty Coffee Mugs.
Think of anything that makes a coffee mug unique. While it often times will have a different shape than your average mug they can also just have unique custom text on the coffee mug itself.
We'll make a short list to expand our understanding of novelty coffee mugs.
- Funny novelty coffee mugs.
- Large novelty coffee mugs.
- Uniquely shaped novelty coffee mugs.
- Souvenir novelty coffee mugs.
This list includes 4 of the most commonly known coffee mugs, but the uniqueness of novelty mugs is so far and wide we could talk about it for days.
There's even unique coffee mugs gold plated or made purely from gold, or copper mugs (Which I find as a personal favorite.) which stand out to both be very pleasing to look at.
Power the Novelty.
While we'll be talking about it in depth more in another article I also have to include electric and battery powered coffee mugs while we're talking about novelty mugs.
Some of the coolest mugs out there actually come with a built in battery that keeps your mug cool to the touch but heats up the coffee inside.
They can heat your coffee from cold to hot for you either for a few hours or indefinitely as long as they remain on their charging pad, talk about an awesome accessory to have at your work desk!
These can come in multiple sizes ranging from an actual mug with a battery to a much larger travel mug that can hold 16 Oz or more coffee, tea, or pretty much anything else you want to keep hot.
The Most Unique I've Seen.
Check out this list of some of the most unique novelty mugs I've seen.
- Battery powered coffee mugs.
- Coffee mugs made from Legos.
- Coffee mugs with a lid that grows a plant.
- Coffee mugs with a side pocket to store cookies, sugar, or anything else you like to have with your coffee.
The list of novelty coffee mugs goes on and on, and the uniqueness, as I often like to say, is just as unique and beautiful as we are.
Oh and I also saw a coffee mug just the other day that was basically an octopus. It was pretty awesome. Probably going to buy it at some point.
