Coffee Technology Continues to Evolve.
While smart devices have been on the market for quite some time, new technology and advances in our home network allow those current devices to be improved upon.
Not long-ago Café' introduced their latest in Smart Wi-Fi drip style coffee makers, and I have to say that it's pretty awesome.
With coffee being such an integral part of so many of our lives I found that picking up this new device was a no brainer for me.
While my current percolator works just fine, I've been wanting a replacement for a while because it's just an old coffee maker with no bells and whistles whatsoever.
I've been waiting for the right time to justify getting a smart coffee maker and I finally decided that now would be the best time to go for it.
Introducing the Café Smart Wi-Fi Coffee Maker.
Checking Out the Features. Here's the Bells and Whistles.
We'll work our way from the ground up on this beautiful little piece of coffee tech, beginning with the carafe.
The Carafe. One of the most important things for coffee lovers who share or drink a lot of coffee in a day is knowing how much the coffee pot holds before buying a new coffee maker being browsed.
The Café' Smart Coffee Maker holds 10 cups of coffee, which is a moderate amount for a regular coffee drinker.
The carafe has a nice heat plate where it sits to keep your coffee hot, and best of all the smart coffee maker has different settings that you can change in its companion app or through Alexa or Google Home to tell it exactly how many cups you want brewed.
The carafe is also insulated to keep your coffee hotter better, and it looks really stylish to boot.
The Smarts. While most households are still working on upgrading from the popular percolation coffee machines from the 90s and 2000s, it's important to know what smart features are being offered in a smart device. One of the things that's held me back so long in acquiring a smart coffee maker has been the higher cost with features that didn't really improve my quality of life that much.
With the Café' Smart Coffee Maker I finally felt that shift, and here's the main features that finally brought me to buy what I now consider one of the best smart coffee makers on the market.
I'm a huge fan of Amazon and Alexa, and Finally, Alexa and Google Home have been infused into a smart coffee maker that I like.
It also has a companion app which I consider vital just like my Nest. I love to be able to control the temperate with my voice, but I find it far my convenient to use the companion app when I'm still sleepy in bed.
My new smart coffee maker is no different, but when I'm up and about it's time for Alexa to take over with my voice controls.
It also lets you save your favorite settings in the app from how many cups you want, the temperature, and it also has some awesome coffee brew settings to change it from gold, light, medium, and bold coffee brew levels.
I find myself picking bold the most, because I like my coffee strong.
It goes without saying that it's Wi-Fi enabled, so connecting it to your home network, the companion app, and Alexa/Google Home is a breeze.
Another feature that made it irresistible was the automatic brew time settings. I was getting sick of telling my coffee machine to turn on by manually pressing the button every day, so this feature for me was highly sought after.
Sure, other coffee machines that aren't that smart allow you to set this up too, but I've never been a big fan of manually programming my coffee maker to brew at certain times, because every time you need to make a change you have to go back over to it and smash buttons to get what you want, likely overwriting your previous auto brew settings in the process.
That problem I was having is gone now with this tasty coffee Wi-Fi connected delight. Now I can just alter those settings ultra-easily from my app or with my Alexa. And I have to say... it is SOOO nice.
The Appearance. Ok this is very essential too. When you're placing a new appliance on your counter, or in my case my dedicated coffee counter you want it to be aesthetically pleasing and march what other items are around it.
The Café' Coffee Machine comes in three tasty visual flavors.
My favorite, and the color I bought was the white with copper accents. And guess what, it's real copper on there, which any of you who read my articles know how much I love copper and coffee.
It also comes in a nice matte black or a shiny stainless steel if that's what your kitchen or break room is wearing.
Another of the important appearance factors that pushed me to purchase is the water reservoir. It sits fully open to the eye up at the top with a clear appearance all the way around.
This is important to me because I want to see how much water is left in my reservoir, and I also want to make sure the water hasn't gotten dirty or acquired coffee grounds as hitchhikers waiting to ambush my coffee filter. (Hey, I have kids ok, you other parents understand.)
Approved by Baristas. There are a billion different coffee machines on the market that get pumped out of factories all over the world. This is one of the reasons I'm writing this article, not only to share my experiences with you, but also to bring a product to your attention that is a trustworthy, SCA recognized and certified coffee maker.
What is SCA you ask? Great question.
SCA stands for Specialty Coffee Association. When you see this mark, it means a group of expert level baristas and judges have run it through their standards and testing and given it the thumbs up.
Whenever you're looking for a good coffee maker you should look for the SCA seal of approval.
Now it doesn't always mean that buying a coffee machine without this certification means you're getting a bad coffee maker, or that the seal guarantee a a coffee maker will satisfy your coffee requirements, but it's a really great thing to have in front of you, especially when you're looking to spend Smart levels of pricing for a coffee machine.
The Tech Specs. How could we talk about an awesome Smart Wi-Fi enabled coffee machine without talking about the technical and physical specifications of our new device?
This work of art will be pulling 120 volts of power from your outlet and will weigh in around 10 pounds before it's removed from the box.
It does have button for physical human interfacing in addition to its smart features and sits at 7.3"D x 12.5"W x 14"H for its dimensions.
I really LOVE my Café' Smart Coffee Maker, and if you're a passionate coffee lover like me ready to make the jump to a smart coffee maker or if you just don't like your current smart coffee machine and want a change then I highly recommend this lovely work of art.
The price point may be a little high for some, but I can promise you it's worth it in the quality of life, Batista level quality of brew, and the overall quality and style that it offers.
